It is with deep regret that the Executive Committee announces the passing pf Professor Etim Moses Essien, FMCPath, FWACP, FRCPath, FAS, FAAS, NNOM, OFR.

Acknowledged by all as doyen of Hematology at Ibadan, he was revered as teacher, mentor and role model and he was the recipient of many national and international awards for his life’s work.

We mourn his passing and extend our deepest condolences to his family. We join with them in celebrating a glorious life lived in the service of others.. We are grateful for the powerful and positive impact he had on generations of medical students and trainees at Ibadan.

May God’s Grace comfort and strengthen his family at this time of loss and sorrow.

May the soul of Professor Moses Etim Essien Rest In Peace. Amen.
