Kola Olofinboba, MBBS, MBA

Dr. Olofinboba is a Managing Partner at Fairview Capital Partners, a company he joined 16+ years ago. Fairview is a venture capital and private equity investment management firm, founded in 1994 and headquartered in West Hartford, CT. The firm manages funds with an aggregate capitalization of $10.4 billion as of year-end 2022.

Prior to joining Fairview, Dr. Olofinboba was a Management Consultant at McKinsey & Company from 2003 to 2006. At McKinsey, he served U.S. and global clients in the healthcare payer, provider and pharmaceutical sectors, as well as in private equity.

Previously, he practiced medicine as a board-certified internist/hospitalist and faculty member at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, CT, and at the West Side VA Medical Center/University of Illinois in Chicago. He received multiple awards during his medical career including the selection as Teacher of the Year at the University of Connecticut Health Center in 2000 and 2001.

Dr. Olofinboba received his MBBS degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 1989, followed by a rotating internship at the San Fernando General Hospital in Trinidad and Tobago. He then completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Connecticut in 1994, and was Chief Resident from 1994 to 1995. In 2001, he left clinical practice and enrolled at the MIT Sloan School of Management for an MBA in Financial Management, which he completed in 2003.

He currently serves as a director on several Boards including Hartford HealthCare, Liberty Bank, and the National Association of Investment Companies. He has previously served as a director on the Boards of other non-profit and for-profit entities including the Simsbury Bank and Trust Company, the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, and the Connecticut Science Center.

Of particular note, Dr. Olofinboba was the inaugural Public Relations Officer for ICOMAA-NA.
